Past Perfect Continuous (Progressive) Tense, is it difficult? No. It just shows that an action started in the past and continued up to a defined point in the past.

It’s very close to Present Perfect Continuous. So, what is the difference? Present Perfect Continuous: an action “continues up to the present.” Past Perfect Continuous: an action “continued up to a point in the past.”
